CHARLES G. FINNEY

The Oberlin Evangelist

April 23, 1856

ROCHESTER, N.Y.

The Genesee Evangelist, of April 10, says--"The religious interest in our city still continues, and souls are hopefully converted every week." On the first Sabbath in April accessions were made to several of the churches, mostly of the fruits of the revival; in Dr. Shaw's 74, of whom 64 were by profession, and thirty-one were heads of families; another 23; another 19, and on probation in the various Methodist churches, 102.

It is intimated that in consequence of his long and arduous labors, Mr. Finney needs rest, and will soon close his labors there.
